Sodium sulfate

Technical anhydrous sodium sulfate is an inorganic chemical compound with the formula Na₂SO₄. It is a water-soluble inorganic salt of sulfuric acid and sodium. Sodium sulphate is a white crystalline material with hygroscopic properties, orthorhombic or hexagonal structure, it does not occur in nature - it is obtained by calcining hydrated sulphate or by desulphurization. Anhydrous sodium sulfate is highly hygroscopic and is often used as a drying agent.
